Frequently Asked Questions
What training methods do you use?
At Canine Sense, all training is founded on the Training Without Conflict™ methodology developed by Ivan Balabanov. This modern, science-based system focuses on communication, play, and mutual understanding - helping dogs learn with confidence and enthusiasm rather than stress or confusion.
We recognise that every dog is unique, which is why our training methods are customised to suit each pet’s individual needs and personality. Our approach is rooted in the principles of dog psychology, focusing on understanding your dog’s emotional state and strengthening the bond between you and your dog.
Through clear communication and positive interactions, we create a learning environment where play (using toys or food) is a big part of the training.
Most of our clients seek our help with unwanted or potentially dangerous behaviours, and our primary goal is to improve your dog’s behaviour as quickly as possible so that you and your dog can enjoy your desired lifestyle. This sometimes means that dogs need to understand the consequences of their actions in order to stop certain behaviours efficiently and successfully.
